The Shape of Language Brochure

The Shape of Language Brochure was a project I did for my college's Design Center as part of the student design team. The brochure was created for The Shape of Language Exhibition, an annual exhibition held to "fulfill the mission of the Design Center to educate the public about the impact of design on society". For the design of the cover, I decided on a striking palette of black over yellow, a color combination common on road signs, as a way to get attention to the brochure, with the text angled and bundled close together as possible to help give the idea of shapes onto the cover. The pages all have the page numbers grayed out and enlarge in the background to help break up some of the white space and to roll with the theme of language as shapes, in that respect, the page numbers, if not noticed as such, can be seen as just gray blocks of color in the background.
